The Brynildsen Research Group is a Network Biology and Metabolic Engineering Lab. We use both computational and experimental techniques in systems biology, synthetic biology, and metabolic engineering to understand and address threats to human health. Our general approach is outlined in the Figure to the right. We currently focus on the global public health crisis of antibiotic resistance, and are interested in the specific areas of antivirulence therapy and bacterial persistence.
